  62. o   Picture this!  PowWow now allows you to transfer and display JPEG's
  63.     of yourself and others.  Any JPEG of up to 10Kb in size can be used.
  64.     To specify your picture, select SETUP|LOCAL INFO|JPEG PICTURE FILE
  65.     from the main menu.  Pictures can be saved on your hard disk for 
  66.     "easy access" the next time you chat with that photogenic special 
  67.     someone.  To view someone's picture, click on the "eye" mini-icon on
  68.     their menu bar (there is no menu command for this, currently).
  69.  
  70.     To remove a picture, edit the [PICTURES] section of your POWWOW.INI
  71.     file.

  73. o   Nicknames!  You can now display your own name or handle in place of
  74.     you PowWow Local User I.D.  To create/edit your nickname, go to
  75.     SETUP|LOCAL INFO|REAL NAME/HANDLE from the Main Menu.  To toggle 
  76.     between displaying a PowWow Local User I.D. and name, click on the
  77.     person's menu bar.

  79. o   Go home!  You can now specify your home page for others to go to
  80.     under SETUP|LOCAL INFO|HOME PAGE.  Any valid URL of up to 255 characters
  81.     can be used.  To go to someone's home page, click on the "home"
  82.     mini-icon on their menu bar (there is no menu command for this, currently)

  86. o   The "Direct Connect" option under SETUP|LOCAL INFO has been removed
  87.     since it does not actually do anything.

  91. o   Fixed a GPF problem with the chat buffers caused when the buffer
  92.     reached its maximum size.

  94. o   Fixed problem with Cruise ending when one party quit cruising.

  98. o   Changing the buffer sizes while connect to another person causes a
  99.     GPF.  You can get around this by disconnecting, changing the buffer
  100.     size, and reconnecting.  (FIXED - 1.7 beta 3)

  103. POWWOW VERSION 1.7 beta 1 - Released September 20, 1995

  106. NOTE:   Because of the excellent feedback received from all of
  107.         you, we have added many new features and bug-fixes in
  108.         this release.  In fact, we've added so many new features
  109.         and bug-fixes that we've decided to skip over the 1.6
  110.         version number and  call this release Version 1.7 beta 1.
  111.  
  112.         Kudos to PowWow beta-tester Randy Vaughn who suggested
  113.         several of the new features, helped us squash some bugs
  114.         under Windows NT, and, most importantly, sent us coffee.

  117. New Features
  118. ------------
  119. o   More icons!  Each person you chat with now has mini-icons for
  120.     disconnect, file send, voice chat request, talk, and private
  121.     chat (Thanks, Randy!).
  122.  
  123. o   Speaking of private chat, a private chat feature has been
  124.     added to allow two people to chat without others seeing what
  125.     is being typed.
  126.  
  127. o   Added support for Microsoft's Internet Explorer (tested under
  128.     Windows 95 only)
  129.  
  130. o   Allow users to add their own .WAV files to PowWow.  To remove
  131.     .WAV files, open your C:\WINDOWS\POWWOW.INI file, go to the
  132.     [Sounds] section and erase the lines/sounds you no longer wish
  133.     to play.

  135. o   Choice of sending either a male or female voice with Bye, Cool,
  136.     and Hi There .WAV files.  Two female voices included for Cool.
  137.     Try using COOL_F2.WAV as COOL_F.WAV and let us know which you
  138.     prefer.

  140. o   PowWow now plays a a chat request wave (filename: CHATREQ.WAV)
  141.     when a chat is requested.
